How to prevent my theme from being flagged as a duplicate

Hello. I was simply wondering why my theme “Dark - Green Active Tab Text!” was considered a duplicate. In fact, I made the theme because I wasn’t able to find an existing one like it. To avoid unnecessary flagging, I provided a detailed description of all the theme’s features. Some of the key features include:

  • Bright green “active tab” text to highlight current tab
  • Bright green “icons attention” color
  • Bright green “URL highlight” color with solid black text for easily visible selections
  • Dark gray background with a subtle texture

The most similar themes I personally found highlight the entire tab or its outline in green, which I find a bit too jarring and distracting. They also don’t dim background tab text or icons and apply green to the URL text, among other differences.

It’s also frustrating that the theme preview doesn’t reflect changes to the ‘active tab’ text color, and I don’t know of any way to adjust this behavior. This might contribute to the theme appearing as just another basic dark theme at a quick glance. Not sure what I can do to circumvent this. I’d love any feedback on how to better showcase the theme’s unique features or fix the active tab color preview issue.

Thanks,
vollux

When encountering issues with the AMO review process, it’s best to reply to the rejection email (or in the add-ons Review History on DevHub) to explain why you think they made a mistake, ask for clarification on the rejection, or both. If you haven’t done so already, definitely start there
